Bankstown Golf Club – Round 5
Bankstown Golf Club was the venue for Round 5 of the monthly RMYC Port Hacking golf championship. Pre-game there was a lot of cheeky rugby league bravado, banter and sledging with the Rooster loving barista at the local Ashford Ave Milperra coffee outlet. So much for the sledging …. the barista’s Roosters were washed-away by the Storm, but then, the Sharks were mauled by the cellar dwelling Bulldogs.
Twenty five golfers teed-up for the round. The greens quickened as in the winter morning sun warmed-up. Not so the scores which were the lowest carded for the year.
The individual Stableford winner was Anthony Tripodi with his whirlwind swing scoring 35 points. Anthony “pipped” Steve McManus on a count back.
In a big comeback from last Round’s disqualification at Wollongong, John Mason’s team of Ian Hillman, Michael Kean and Steve Mcmanus won the Team Aggregate with 123 points. Runners-up in the Team Aggregate were Warren Stephens, Peter Birdsall 11 points.,. Anthony Tripodi and Chuck Birdsall with 111 points.
