1 Day Boat Licence Course

Saturday, January 6 @ 9:00 am - 3:30 pm

Get your Boat Licence with RMYC Port Hacking!

The NSW boat licence course offered by Maritime Training School is designed for both the beginner and experienced boating enthusiast alike. Our highly experienced NSW boating instructors will guide you through with step-by-step instructions that everyone can understand, both land-lubber and salty sea dog!

Maritime Training School has the perfect setup to deliver this training in the beautiful boardroom of the Royal Motor Yacht Club. You will have a fun day split between the beautiful club and the gorgeous waters of Port Hacking. The theory component of the course will give you an understanding of NSW collision regulations, trip preparations, nautical terminology, life jacket use, EPIRB’s, marine radio, what to do in emergencies and how to avoid serious incidents and injuries. This includes the following units of competency:

  • MEM50008B – Carry out trip preparation and planning
  • MEM50009B – Respond to boating emergencies and incidents
  • MEM500010B – Safely operate a mechanically powered recreational boat

More importantly you will get behind the wheel of our training vessel and learn some the essentials such as berthing, emergency manoeuvres, boat handling skills both high speed and low speed and basic rope work.

At the completion of our course you will be asked to undergo the 40 multiple choice boating test. Upon a successful result you will be issued with a “Statement of Attainment” which you must present to Roads and Maritime Services to be issued with your very own Boat Licence.
